Depending on the Indian cultures and families based, the serial stories are directed accordingly so that people can enjoy the show. Most of the time we like shows whose stories relates to our life stories in some way or the other and most prefer to watch it. Indian Television channels is well-known for their family dramas because of the country giving more importance to the family system and their varied customs and religions. Although most are based on romance genre, there are few shows based on many other genres as well. Of course there is no drama, fun, love and family without a woman,and women are the main part of the most serials. 10. Sasural Simar ka
A show aired on the Colors TV, which was started from April 25th 2011, has made its mark with many ladies of Indian soap opera’s fan. It is aired at 7:30 pm from Monday to Saturday. This serial is also been shown in other south Indian languages that is in Tamil and Telugu channels as well. The program is directed by Pawan Kumar.
When we say Sasural, anyone can obviously imagine what the story line would be, and most of the Hindi serials are mainly based on the heroine either with some kind of sasural (in-laws) problems or problems with a man. In this soap the story line goes on about the small town girl Simar, who has grown up in a middle class family and along with a strict and disciplined father. Though her father is very strict he is the most loving person to her and she to him. After marriage, she finds difficult to pursue her interest in dance because of some family values and tries to pursue her passion for dance without the knowledge of her father as well as her in-laws. But she has support from a few family members along with the support of her husband. 9. Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke
This show is one of the best serial of the Zee Tv and also the favorite of many Indian soap opera watchers. A Serial is a journey of lead actors and their life surrounded by other family members and friends. Of course no program runs without a villain or a negative role by an actor or actress, who makes the program all interesting. Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (SSLK) is aired at 7:30 to 8:00 pm from Monday to Friday on Zee TV. Its a new program started from 21st May of 2012. This show is a typical teenage girls story suitable for young watchers. Like any other Indian drama’s this serial is based on the life story of two different girls brought up in two different environments. Gunjan, the 17 year old from Mumbai loses her mother to cancer and was suppose to move to Australia along with her father, moves back into a small town of Banaras when her aunt offers to take care of her along with her daughter Rachna. The serial runs around the lives of these two girls with their different life style, the way they deal with things, studies and boys etc. Its a typical story line for youngsters with all the modern issues related such as the dating, career’s, health, exams, etc. Directed by Rajesh Babbar, the roles played as Gunjan is Rupal Tyagi, Rachna by Mahima Makwana, Mayank Prabhu Garg (Gunjan boyfriend) by Ankit Gera, and a few others who makes the story line interesting.
8. Saath Nibhana Saathiya
Saath Nibhana Saathiya (SNS) is a typical drama of two different kind of women, which portrays good and evil characters. The Serial is directed by Pawan Kumar and was first aired in Star Plus on May 3rd 2010 at 7 pm from Monday to Friday . SNS is a story of two cousins Gopi and Rashi. Gopi being an illiterate marries Kokila Modi’s son Aham and wit this Rashi and her mother gets jealous. Rashi marries Jigar with a lot of misdeeds. After marriage, the relationship between Gopi and Aham strains because of she being illiterate although she wins the heart of all the family members. Meanwhile, Rashi and her mother plot to make Gopi relationship with her husband more worse. The story runs behind all kind of troubles Gopi faces and how she tries to adjust among families and builds a relationship with her husband, for that she even becomes literate by studying hard. Rashi continues with bringing troubles, while Gopi keeps trying to avoid trouble. The drama is never interesting with a few negative roles into the serial. 7. Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon

Like the actress Madhubala who was and who is the most favorite among the people, this serial Madhubala is one of the most favorites of many and the most viewed. Directed by Ravindra Gautam, the serial was first aired on 28th May 2012 at 8:30 pm from Monday to Saturday in Colors TV. The serial is a typical Bollywood love story where the tough hero falls in love with the heroine while all he wished is to trouble her and hated her. The lead actress Madhubala’s mother Padmini moves to Mumbai to save her newborn Madhubala from her father he wants to kill her based on some swamiji telling him that a girl child birth will be a reason for his death. After her mother moving to Mumbai Madhubala grows up and likes to marry Mukund Dixit and hates RK whom she meets in the incident of a car accident and gets him punished. As a revenge RK spreads rumors about he and Madhubala being romantically involved followed by the breaking of engagement with Mukund Dixit. Later when she falls in love with RK he confesses that he was only made her fall in love with him to have his revenge. But as days goes and she starts working on his film sets, and when there is a new character entry as Sultan, RK realizes that he is truly in love with Madhubala. So what happens next is something not for me to say, instead you should watch and enjoy the program. The lead actress role as Madhubala is played by Drashti Dhami, RK (Rishabh Mohan Kundra) by Vivian Dsena, Sultan by Avinesh Rekhi and few others.
6. Balika Vadhu
The most famous among all the serials Balika Vadhu a serial based on the ancient Indian custom of child marriage, is one of those serials which is on top list and has been the first in ranking of the serials since many episodes. This serial was started originally in Colors TV on 21 July 2008. Now, this soap is also featured in other languages as Telugu, Tamil and in Serbian. Its a serial also aired in Pakistan in Hum2. The show is been running from a long time since 2008 and the story has come a long way with a lot many things happening in it. The show is aired from Monday to Saturday at 8 pm in Colors TV. Its a show set in Rajasthan. Its a story of Anandi married to Jagdish. In short its a story of two children being married and growing together and while the girl education is stopped and is sent to her in-laws house at the age of eight. But due to the family tortures and Kalyani (Jagdish grandmother) treatment she runs back to her parents house. Later Jagdish runs away to Mumbai for being punished by his father because of lying about his bad marks in exams. Later on Kalyani changes and she lets Anandi study again. In the later on episodes both Anandi and Jagdish lead different lives and marry different people once after Anandi gives divorce to him. Its a new program started in Zee TV and airs at 9:30 pm Monday to Friday, introducing the lead actress Surbhi Jyoti and the famous tele star Karan Singh Grover who played the lead role of Dill Mill Gayye as Dr. Armaan.
The serial is shot based on the religious traditions of a Muslim family and Surbhi playing the lead female role as Zoya. Zoya is an NRI settled in London and who visits her family members in India on vacations. A girl who is totally not interested in a marriage and who does not feels shy to talk her hear out and who has a go get attitude. A sensible, responsible, cultured and balanced and who is very conscious of her rights. Zoya refuses to marry a guy seen for her because she feels the guy is way beneath her at the wedding. My opinion one needs to watch more of shows which can realy make you laugh, because laughter is good for health, and it also can make you forget your worries for a while at least and make you feel relaxed. While our lives is itself a drama filled with many things, we certainly need a drama which can bring a smile on our face. Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is one such mesmerized show aired on SAB TV at 8:30 pm Monday to Friday, which makes everyone laugh out loud. The show was first aired on July 28, 2008. The show is written by the famous journalist Tarak Mehta and it is one of the program’s most viewed. The show take concepts based on the social issues of Indian societies and have shown solutions to them as well. The Gokuldham Co-operative Housing Society of the program is a very good example as how we need to be. Its a mixture of all kind of families living together such as Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Bihari, South Indian, Bengali, Parsi and Muslim. Though they fight with each other, they always patch up and help each other families and live a happy and lively society.

3. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

The story is all about Akshara a young girl with desires in life surrounded by a protective family and who has not seen life outside, marries and starts life into a new folds. It was started on 18th June 2012 and is one of the most favorites among the Indian serial watchers. The story is based on the the impact of adults on the children based on the relationships and how they deal with such things in their own lives. The story line goes on with the lead male character Aditya who believes in non existence of love and relationships because of his parents separation. The lead female character Pankhuri who believes in love and relationships and believes that a right life partner completes one’s life.
