Basketball is a very popular game and is liked by many people. People play it at almost all levels, be it be school, college, district, state, national or international. It is a team sport which consists of 10 -20 team members, out of which 5 are on court. The objective of the game is basically to shoot a ball through a basket which is at a certain height, to score points. Only a basketball and a court is required to play this game and obviously a certain set of rules. Playing basketball obviously develops fitness and have a lot of health benefits like any other sport, but it has an extra advantage of developing speed and improving hand – eye coordination. If we consider health affects then playing basketball helps in burning our calories, building cardiovascular endurance and building up our upper body and lower body muscles. It also helps in developing our balance and self discipline and at the same time improves our balance and coordination. 10. JARRELL MARTIN
Jarrell Martin is from Baton Rouge, LA and has completed his schooling from Madison Prep Academy. He was recruited by L S U, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Saint John’s and Texas A&M but he signed but he signed his L S U on 11 January, 2012. He is considered to be intense on the court and he plays as Power Forward. He is an aggressive scorer and also gets to free throw line very often. He is also very good at rebounding. But he still lacks strength and needs to work on shooting Off Dribble. He also should be trained on defense as he is weak in blocking shots.
9. KASEY HILL
Kasey Hill is also known as the King of the court. He is from Eustis, FL and did his schooling from Montverde Academy. He plays Basketball at the position of Point Guard but he also have the ability to score baskets. He was recruited by Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina State and South Florida but he joined Florida. He is very good in Ball handling and his Basketball IQ is his biggest strength. He can be the one among the biggest players if he works on his strength by spending more time in the weight room.
8. NOAH VONLEH
Noah Vonleh is considered as one of the top rated basketball player. He Has offers from Indiana, Syracuse, Georgetown, Kansas, Ohio State, North Carolina and Connecticut but he signed a letter of intent with Indiana university. He is from Haverhill, MA and did his schooling from New Hampton School. He plays at the position of Power Forward as he has excellent balancing ability because of his strong frame. He also possess excellent body strength and have good touch on his shots. All he needs to do is believe in himself and work on his confidence.
7. AARON HARRISON
Aaron Harrison is from Richmond, Texas and did his schooling from Travis High School. He signed a letter of intent with Kentucky University thereby turning down offers from Maryland and Southern Methodist. He plays at the position of Shooting Guard as he is really competitive in nature and is an aggressive and confident scorer. He is a very good 3 – point range shooter and usually found to be in attack mode while playing. All he lacks is decision making ability and thus needs to work on it in order to achieve great success.
6. JAMES YOUNG
James Young is a budding American Basketball talent with a very high potential and caliber to achieve great heights. He is from Rochester and did his schooling from Rochester High School. He was recruited by Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan state and Syracuse but he signed a letter of intent with Kentucky on 11 October, 2012. He plays at the position of Small Forward and is considered to be a left handed scorer. He is considered to be the best at his position as he is always ready to score a basket.
5. ANDREW HARRISON
Andrew Harrison is the twin brother of Aaron Harrison. He too is from Richmond, Texas and did his schooling from Travis High School. He signed a letter of intent with Kentucky University just like his brother, thereby turning down offers from Maryland and Southern Methodist. He plays at the position of Point Guard as he possess great size and length which is required for this position. He is also considered to be a very confident scorer as he is very good at rebounding. He has the ability to utilize change of pace to set up his move in every situation whether it be transition, running an offense or breaking off a play.
4. AARON GORDON
Aaron Gordon is from San Jose, California, and completed his schooling from Archbishop Mitty High School. He has offers from Arizona, Washington, Kentucky and Oregon but he signed the letter of intent with Arizona on 2 April, 2013. He plays Basketball at the position of Power Forward since he is very good at overpowering opponents. He possess rare physical gifts which provides him leaping ability and body control. His great size, strength and athleticism are his plus points. He needs to work on his perimeter skills which includes shooting and passing and also on his foot speed in order to be the best.
3. JULIUS RANDLE
Julius Randle is from Mc Kinney, Texas and plays basketball at the position of Power Forward. He did his schooling from Prestonwood Christian Academy and have now joined Kentucky University. He also have offers from Florida, Kansan and Texas. He possess a strong body and can play with his front to the basket as well as with his back to the basket. He is considered to be a very good finisher around the basket and is also an excellent 3 – point scorer. All he needs to do is work on his right hand as he is too left hand dominant. He also is a lot perimeter oriented which is also one of his weakness and need to be worked upon.
2. JABARI PARKER
Jabari Parker is from Chicago, Illinois, and is committed to Duke. He did his schooling from Simeon Career academy and plays at the position of Small Forward. He was also recruited by Brigham Young, Florida, Michigan State and Stanford. He is considered to be a natural basket player as he possess a very strong Basketball IQ. He is considered to be a fluid runner and also have a strong footwork which will certainly help him to become a very capable player. Since he is very young, so there is a lot of room to improvise his skills and talents and thus with experience and practice, he will definitely achieve great success.
1. ANDREW WIGGINS
Andrew Wiggins is considered to be the top most Basketball player of the class of 2013. He is from Thornhill, Canada and have been recruited by Florida State, Kansas, North Carolina and Kentucky but has still not signed the letter of intent with any of the colleges. He did his schooling from Huntington Prep School and Vaughan Secondary School and plays Basketball at the position of Small Forward. This Canadian Basketball player is considered as one of the gifted athlete who plays a very good offensive game. Though he possess a lot of potential, but there still exists some areas where he needs improvement like his body strength and his ball handling ability, in order to become a great Basketball player.
